Medicube Booster H for Glass Skin: My Honest Results After a Year

Does it work?

Medicube is a Korean brand that makes beauty devices. They’ve become quite popular online in the past few years, and last time I was in Seoul, they had opened a big, new shop right in the heart of Hongdae.

They have multiple devices designed to tackle different skin issues, and you can shop according to whichever concern you might have on their website. I use the Booster H. It’s a great, all-around, daily tool that can be used with many kinds of serums and creams.

What does it do?

I pulled this from a Vogue article that explains it neatly.

“Medicube, the K-beauty brand specializing in solution-driven topicals and devices to treat any skin concern, describes the Age-R Booster-H as a sort of “radiance device” that aims to give your skin an at-home glow boost without needles or downtime.

“The Medicube Age-R Boosteer-H works by generating electro-passageways through electrical stimulation, allowing your products to penetrate the skin more deeply,” Dr. Engelman explains. “According to clinical studies by the brand, this device increases skin permeability by 490%, allowing for better product absorption, amplifying the benefits of your skin care and helping skin become healthier and more glowy.”

What you need to know is that it increases absorption of your products. It improves the efficacy of whatever goodness is already coming from the skincare you’re using.

How I use it.

I try to use it every morning and night. After washing my face, I follow up with my full skincare routine and then as a last step, use the Medicube Collagen Jelly Cream.

To be totally clear, you do not have to use their creams or serums to use the Booster. I just recently returned to using the cream because it’s thick and helps the booster slide more easily around my face.

There is an automatic timer for 5 minutes.

Press the button and the blue LED light will turn on, heralded with a voice that says ‘level one.’ There are five levels, each with increasing intensity. It feels like little electric pulses and maybe the ever-so-slightest sensation of heat. I have great tolerance for pain, so I use level five and it just feels like an innocent electric massage. I’ll use lower levels on my nose and around my eyes.

After five minutes, it automatically shuts off. And then I gently wipe it clean with a soft cloth; never with water.

My verdict?

Like all things with skincare, it’s not a magic wand that will zap away all of your skin concerns. It takes patience to see results.

But using it for over a year now, I can definitely see the improvement of my skin in terms of moisturizing and being 팽팽해진다. It’s extremely easy to use, convenient to store (I stand it up right on my vanity table,) easy to charge, and unlike many other beauty tools, it doesn’t require any specific, expensive face cream to go with it.

Sitting there for 5 extra minutes and watching it glide over my face gives me time to consider my skin. Like I say in my skincare philosophy post, your skin wants to be beautiful and can take care of itself. You just need to create the conditions for it to do so.

The medicube Booster has been a nice addition to my skincare routine and made a difference over time.

It’s been some years since my Booster tool came out, so there are new and improved versions now. The beauty tools are all Korean made only, so if you want to try something else, I say go for it!
