Best 3 Korean Beauty Picks of March – Skincare & Makeup Edition
My top 3 Favorite K-beauty products this March
Beware the Ides of March. More like beware the impending spring weather and the changes it can bring to your skincare routine.
That’s too long. But you understand.
Some people have their beauty routines and stick to it, come rain or shine. Others like to mix it up, and sometimes, they find things that really work, and things that really don’t. It’s a risk.
I fall into that second camp. Unfortunately, I’ve gone through the WHOLE thing. Breakouts, skin barrier damage, roughness, hyper-sensitivity, rashes… all in a horribly misguided attempt to get beautiful skin without really understanding what my skin needed. Fortunately, that means you can skip all that nonsense and learn from my mistakes.

So it’s March. Here’s 3 Korean beauty products that I recommend.
Missha Glow Skin Balm
This lightweight, moisturizing makeup primer will make your face glow - without the oiliness. It feels just like a lotion, and absorbs very well. I put it on as my final step before makeup, and it has made all the difference. It’s suitable for winter and summer. Watch more of my review here.
2. Sulwhasoo Cleansing Oil
To be completely clear, you don’t have to use Sulwhasoo. I know it’s a little pricey. But I strongly suggest incorporating oil cleansing into your face washing routine. For me, mine looks like:
makeup remover
oil cleanser
foam cleanser
I don’t rub angrily, I don’t exfoliate harshly (we’ll talk about exfoliation another time), I don’t use chemical peels, etc. Oil cleansing is effective at clearing pores, makeup residue, reducing inflammation and gentle exfoliation. Currently, I’ve been using Sulwhasoo Gentle Cleansing Oil, and it’s been amazing. Another one that has worked well is Anua Cleansing Oil, but I stand by Sulwhasoo.
3. MEDIHEAL Madecassoside Toner Pads
This came as a pleasant surprise.
I was contacted by the brand to review the toner pads, and I’ve ended up as a solid fan. The pads are gentle, refreshing and soothing. I actually use them as a quick face pack alternative. I use three pads, one for my forehead, two for both cheeks, and wear them like that for about 10 minutes. They’re great for tackling redness or sensitive skin. After letting them sit on my face for a bit, I’ll then gently wipe down my face for exfoliation. So far, I’ve only used these blue ones (I know the brand has multiple types), but they’ve worked beautifully for me. Watch my review here.
Remember, everybody’s skin is different! One of, if not the best ways to find out what works for you, is to give it a careful trial and see for yourself.
