“Clouds suit my mood just fine.”
- Marie Lu
I was flipping rather mindlessly through the endless stream of instagram stories, paying no regard to which story belonged to who, when I noticed one that was taking place in a pastel colored cafe with clouds floating around the ceiling.
Cafe El Cielo! The instagrammer had typed up on the top of her story. What a pretty name, I thought. Spanish for "Sky" or "heavens."
Armed with a camera and with my friend Tey in tow, I headed over to Sinsa where El Cielo is located.
Half of the cafe is made up of windows, which is nice, as it lets in the sunlight, adding to the ambience of a heavenly cafe. Along with the pastel-colored, fluffy clouds that seemingly bob in the air above the cafe tables, Cafe El Cielo lives up to its name.
Like so many cafes in Seoul, it seems El Cielo has come and gone. I keep this post here as a small memory album of another spot that I think fondly off that no longer exists
